Jaisalmer Travel Information
Jaisalmer combines a living sandstone fort, richly carved havelis, lakefront views, markets, desert villages and the open Thar landscape.
A first-time itinerary normally gives one day to the city and another to the desert. Jaisalmer Fort contains historic lanes, temples, homes, shops and viewpoints. Patwon Ki Haveli showcases intricate sandstone workmanship, while Gadisar Lake provides a relaxed waterfront stop. Bada Bagh, Vyas Chhatri, Salim Singh Ki Haveli, Nathmal Ki Haveli and local handicraft markets can be added according to interests and time.
Sam Sand Dunes is the best-known desert excursion area near Jaisalmer. Travellers visit for sunset, camel rides, jeep safaris, camp stays and cultural evenings.
